LUCOBIT RESINS AND THEIR USE IN COATING APPLICATIONS

Extrusion coating is the coating of a molten web of synthetic resin onto a substrate material before passing through the calender rolls. The substrate material can be another polymer, cardboard, woven and non-woven fabrics, metallic foil or paper. Multiple layers can be applied on both sides of the primary substrate leading to a multilayer structure. Co-extrusion is the process by which two or more extruders are coupled to a single die head. Here, the individually extruded melts are brought together and finally extruded as a multi-layer film. Extrusion coating is used among others for liquid, flexible and transport packaging, mill and industrial wrappings, sack linings, buildings, envelopes and medical/hygiene articles.
